The registration of the new IDN domains, with
accents, is possible for: .biz, .cat, .com, .info, .museum, .net, .org, .ac, .as, .at, .be, .br, .bz, .de, .dk, .fi, .fr, .gr, .hu, .io, .ir, .li, .lt, .lv, .no, .nu, .pl, .pt, .se, .sh, .th and .tr

What is a IDN Domain: IDNA (Internationalizing Domain Names in Applications) is an Internet standard which allows the representation of domain names which contain non-ASCII characters, such as umlauts. Such a domain name is known as an IDN (Internationalized Domain Name). The ASCII-conforming "translation" of an IDN is known as an ACE string (ACE = "ASCII Compatible Encoding").
IDNs are converted to ACE strings by the browser or email program, provided the program has this ability. Instead of the IDN, the user can also enter the ACE string directly in the client. This way programs without IDN support can work with international domains, as long as the user knows the ACE string. Since this is awkward however, it is only recommended when the software does not support IDNs.
Examples of IDNs and the corresponding ACE strings:

Browser with IDN support: To be able to use IDNs as web addresses, the browser must be capable of converting the IDN entered in the address bar to the corresponding ACE string.
The following browsers include IDN support:
- Mozilla version 1.4 and above, Netscape Navigator version 7.1 and above
- Firefox version 0.8 and above
- Konqueror KDE 3.2 and above with GNU IDN library
- Opera version 7.11 and above
- Safari version 1.2 (v125) and above
- Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 5.0 and above, can be made IDN capable by installing the i-nav plugin by VeriSign. IE 6 produces errors despite plugin.
